& Caravaning Expo 2026 Opens with Nearly 100 Exhibitors

The Camping & Caravaning Expo 2026 opened Friday and will continue through Sunday at the former Sofia Land park area. Organized by Camping.BG, this forum marks the 12th annual event, having begun in 2018. This year, 99 exhibitors from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Germany are participating.

The expo anticipates drawing over 12,000 visitors, showcasing the latest trends in campers, caravans, and recreational vehicles, alongside camping, water sports, cycling, and outdoor activities. According to Camping.BG founder Veselin Valev, interest in camping tourism in Bulgaria is increasing. Valev noted that while equipment prices vary widely—from basic trailers costing around EUR 100 to high-end campers reaching millions—the choice between vehicle types depends on the intended trip.

He advised that campers are better suited for transit and short stops, while caravans are more appropriate for extended stays in one location. For beginners, organizers recommend utilizing regulated campgrounds, which offer amenities like showers and toilets, as wild camping can be less comfortable. The expo provides resources for various needs, including learning about converting vans into campervans and understanding weight limits for travel.

Infrastructure, particularly quality roads leading to attractions, was highlighted as a key area for development. Furthermore, the event offers a rich program, including expert presentations, children’s activities, and dedicated sessions on responsible camping, partnering with environmental associations. The presence of numerous exhibitors provides visitors with practical advice across the entire spectrum of caravaning and camping travel.
