Drone Attack on Odesa Region Leaves 13 Injured

Russia conducted a large-scale drone attack on the Odesa region overnight, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration. Lysak reported that the massive drone assault targeted various parts of the city, resulting in 13 reported injuries. The attack caused damage to multiple civilian structures, including residential buildings, a hotel, and several passenger vehicles.

Emergency services and medical teams are currently mobilized at the sites of the strike to provide immediate assistance. Operational headquarters have been established to manage the response and support the affected population following the overnight attack. The incident highlights the ongoing threat faced by the region.

While the immediate focus remains on the damage assessment and humanitarian response following the drone attack in Odesa, the region also has a significant demographic presence. Historically, the Odesa region has been home to a notable Bulgarian population, which, according to the official census, was the third largest group in Ukraine in 2001. Currently, an estimated 50,000 to 60,000 Bulgarians reside in the city of Odesa itself.

The most concentrated Bulgarian communities are situated in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
