Election Commission: With 87.23% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.6%, Second Is CC-DB with 13.5%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results concerning the parliamentary election held on April 19. As of 9:00 a.m. on Monday, the commission processed data from 87.23% of the tally sheets submitted by the various section election commissions.

This release marks a key procedural update following what was noted as the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. The preliminary figures provide an initial overview of the vote count across the constituencies. Under the established Election Code, the CEC operates under specific timelines for finalizing the results.

The commission is legally required to announce the total votes received and the distribution of seats among participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day. Furthermore, the names of all elected Members of Parliament must be officially published within seven days of the election. The processing of the tally sheets by the various local and central commissions is crucial to establishing the final electoral mandate.

The preliminary nature of the current announcement means that final certification remains dependent on the completion and verification of all outstanding vote counts across the national commission structure. Stakeholders await the final reports from the election commission to confirm the definitive composition of the new legislature.
