Election Commission: With 91.68% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.7%, Second Is GERB-UDF with 13.4%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results concerning the parliamentary election held on April 19. These initial figures are based on the processing of 91.68% of the tally sheets, which were compiled by section election commissions and subsequently processed at the constituency election commissions as of 10:00 AM on Monday. The preliminary data indicates which parties and coalitions have successfully crossed the established 4% electoral threshold.

Under the provisions of the Election Code, the CEC is legally obligated to announce the final votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among all participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day. Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament must be officially published within seven days of the election. This electoral process marks the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021.

The reporting of these preliminary figures by the various commissions is a crucial step in the formal tabulation process. The continuous work of the local and central commission structures is necessary to consolidate the final count from every polling station. The thorough processing of each tally sheet by the respective commission ensures adherence to the established electoral protocols for the final determination of parliamentary representation.
