The announcement addressed reports from regional labor offices regarding potential mass layoffs at the facility. AES Bulgaria emphasized that future employment levels will depend directly on the plant’s evolving operational status, confirming that the company has maintained transparent communication with staff throughout this conservation process. Furthermore, AES Bulgaria confirmed that it has proactively notified Mini Maritsa-East, as its contract for supplying lignite coal for electricity generation is scheduled to expire concurrently.
