Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15th to May 17th. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which plans to perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance.” The group intends to convey the emotional connection that binds them, regardless of their geographical location.

SamoDivi members report that preparations are proceeding with dedication, involving bi-weekly rehearsals, detailed costume work, and refinement of their routines. The ensemble is characterized as small yet highly cohesive, comprising dancers from various generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a cultural bond and a sense of belonging that sustains them globally.

The festival itself is dedicated to supporting amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The 11th iteration in Munich is anticipated to draw over 100 participating groups and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, presenting all participating acts.
