The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. For the third consecutive appearance, SamoDivi will perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” a piece intended to convey a unifying, vibrant emotion shared among its members.
The ensemble team reported that preparations are underway, involving twice-weekly rehearsals focused on choreography details and costume preparation. SamoDivi is characterized as a small, cohesive group comprising dancers from various generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a cultural bond and a sense of community that persists regardless of their geographical location.
The group expressed anticipation for sharing this cultural expression on stage in Munich. The Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance festival is organized specifically for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.
