The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the SamoDivi ensemble.
For this festival, SamoDivi will perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that unites its members regardless of their location. The group has reported enthusiastic preparations, including rehearsals twice weekly and detailed work on costumes. SamoDivi is described as a small but cohesive ensemble comprising dancers from multiple generations.
For the performers, folklore is viewed not merely as a dance form, but as a source of connection, identity, and mutual support. The festival, which is organized by and for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. This group hosted both the inaugural 2015 edition and the tenth edition in 2025.
The 11th edition in Munich anticipates participation from over 100 dance ensembles and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event and will provide coverage of all participating groups.
