Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. In their third consecutive appearance, the ensemble plans to present the Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance, a performance intended to convey a shared, vibrant emotion that unites the members regardless of their current location.

Preparations for the performance are reportedly progressing with dedication, involving bi-weekly rehearsals and detailed costume work. SamoDivi is characterized as a small, cohesive group featuring dancers across multiple generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere dance; it represents a cultural bond and a sense of belonging.

The festival itself is organized for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. The upcoming Munich gathering is anticipated to host over 100 dance groups and an attendance exceeding 4,000 guests.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, managing the participation of all involved groups. SamoDivi anticipates sharing their cultural expression on the stage in Munich as part of this international celebration of global folk traditions.
