During the meeting, the Ministry of Sports reviewed the current organizational status, emphasized the necessity of seamless coordination among all involved bodies, and outlined upcoming key activities. Minister Iliev addressed the assembled parties, stressing that successful hosting of an event of this magnitude requires robust inter-institutional cooperation.
He expressed confidence in the collective efforts, affirming that continued, coordinated work is essential to ensure the competition proceeds successfully. Participants confirmed that preparations are advancing according to the established timeline, with specific measures being implemented for security, logistics, and overall operational organization. Discussions also covered protocols for ensuring the safety of both participants and spectators, alongside maintaining the optimal conduct of the sporting event.
The 2026 Giro d’Italia will begin in Nessebar, located on the Black Sea coast, on May 8. The race route will subsequently pass through Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, and Plovdiv before concluding in Sofia on May 10.
