According to the Ministry of Sports on Friday, the meeting addressed current organizational progress, inter-institutional coordination, and upcoming key activities. Minister Iliev reviewed the readiness of all participating bodies, stressing the critical importance of seamless coordination among institutions for the successful execution of the event.
He acknowledged the efforts made thus far, stating that while hosting an event of this magnitude presents a significant challenge, the joint efforts of all involved parties are ensuring confident progress. He affirmed the commitment to maintaining full coordination to guarantee the successful staging of the competition. Attendees confirmed that preparations are advancing according to the established timeline, with necessary measures being implemented for security, logistics, and overall organization.
Discussions also covered safety protocols for both participants and spectators, alongside strategies for ensuring the optimal conduct of the race. The 2026 Giro d’Italia in Bulgaria is scheduled to begin in Nessebar on the Black Sea coast on May 8. The route will subsequently pass through Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, and Plovdiv before concluding in Sofia on May 10.
