Ivelin Mihaylov, the leader of the Velichie party, addressed the early parliamentary election results in a statement released on his official Facebook page. Mihaylov characterized the outcomes as reflective of the electorate’s will. According to the reported figures, with 96.41% of the tally sheets processed, Velichie secured 3.12% of the vote, falling below the 4% threshold required for entry into the National Assembly.
In his statement, Mihaylov suggested that entering parliament at the current level would not be beneficial, advising that the votes might be better directed toward Rumen Radev. Consequently, he announced a strategic shift, stating that the party would reorient itself to serve primarily its dedicated membership and core supporters. The leader criticized the current political landscape, noting that the influence of oligarchs has increased significantly.
Mihaylov asserted that the party’s focus would narrow; it would henceforth protect only its specific electorate rather than acting as a broader political force. Furthermore, he confirmed that Velichie would not participate in the upcoming presidential elections and would not challenge Radev in that race. Looking ahead, Mihaylov outlined plans for comprehensive restructuring, both politically and economically, designed to improve conditions for its voters.
He clarified that his actions were now those of a private citizen rather than a formal party representative. Mihaylov concluded by stating that the party’s identity was changing from representing “the entire people” to representing a more defined segment of the population.
