Nessebar Municipality has announced a comprehensive series of events in preparation for the commencement of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre on Friday, the planned programme begins on May 7. The festivities on the first day include a bazaar set up in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour through the seaside town starting at 10 a.m.
The evening’s entertainment is scheduled to feature performances by local groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town’s fortress walls will host a concert featuring the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R. Following the musical performances, the municipality has also organized a fireworks display.
On the day the Giro d’Italia begins, May 8, the municipality will host a cross-country race that will follow the official race route. These preparatory activities form part of the overall programme designed to engage residents and visitors ahead of the major cycling event. The municipality’s efforts aim to provide a cultural and sporting celebration surrounding the start of the prestigious race.
