Nessebar Municipality has announced a comprehensive programme of activities scheduled to coincide with the commencement of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre, preparations are underway for a series of events designed to celebrate the start of the major cycling race. The festivities are set to begin on May 7.
The day’s activities will open with a bazaar held in Mesambria Square. Following this, an amateur cycling tour is scheduled to depart at 10 a.m., traversing the seaside area of the town. The evening portion of the programme promises cultural entertainment.
Attendees can enjoy performances by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town, situated near the fortress walls, will host concerts featuring the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display organized by the municipality.
On May 8, the day the Giro d’Italia officially begins, the municipality will further engage the public by organizing a cross-country race that follows the official race route. These planned events aim to build momentum and provide community engagement surrounding the international sporting event. The local municipality is coordinating these efforts to ensure a festive and well-attended welcome for the cycling enthusiasts and visitors expected during the week.
