Nessebar Municipality has announced a comprehensive programme of activities to mark the commencement of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre on Friday, the festivities are set to begin on May 7. The initial day’s events include a bazaar scheduled for Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour through the seaside town starting at 10 a.m.
The evening’s schedule features performances by local groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town’s fortress walls will host a concert by the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R. The municipality is also planning a fireworks display to conclude the evening’s festivities.
On May 8, the day the Giro d’Italia officially begins, the municipality will organize a cross-country race that follows the designated race route. The overall programme demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to celebrating the major sporting event. Beyond the organized races and cultural performances, the local municipality has arranged a series of events designed to engage residents and visitors alike.
