The Nessebar municipality has announced a comprehensive cultural and sporting programme in preparation for the commencement of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre, the preparatory events are scheduled to begin the day before. On May 7, the festivities will commence with a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour of the seaside town beginning at 10 a.m.
The evening portion of the schedule features multiple entertainment options. Attendees can enjoy performances by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town will host concerts, featuring performances by the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R.
These musical events are slated to take place in front of the historic fortress walls, concluding with a fireworks display organized by the municipality. On the main day, May 8, coinciding with the start of the Giro d’Italia, the municipality has also arranged a cross-country race that will utilize the official race route. These planned activities are designed to engage residents and visitors in the build-up to the major sporting event.
