Nessebar Municipality has announced comprehensive plans for a series of events coinciding with the start of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre, the preparatory cultural and sporting programme is scheduled to commence on May 7. The initial day’s activities will feature a bazaar set up in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour that will traverse the seaside town, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The evening portion of the May 7th programme is slated to include performances by local groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. The cultural events will culminate with concerts featuring the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R., which are scheduled to take place before the historic fortress walls of the Old Town. Following these musical performances, the municipality has also organized a fireworks display.
On the main day, May 8, when the Giro d’Italia officially begins, the municipality will complement the cycling event by organizing a dedicated cross-country race that follows the official race route. These preparations indicate a significant civic effort by the municipality to welcome the international sporting event. The coordinated schedule of cultural activities and athletic competitions aims to engage residents and visitors alike during the build-up to the major cycling race.
