The Nessebar Municipality has announced a detailed cultural and sporting programme in anticipation of the start of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre, the festivities are set to begin on May 7, offering residents and visitors a series of activities. The schedule for May 7 commences with a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour that will traverse the seaside town starting at 10 a.m.
The evening portion of the programme promises entertainment, featuring performances by local groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town fortress walls are scheduled to host concerts from the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R. Following the musical performances, the municipality has organized a fireworks display.
On the primary day of the event, May 8, when the Giro d’Italia begins, the municipality will also host a dedicated cross-country race that will follow the official race route. The comprehensive schedule indicates that the municipality has curated an event designed to celebrate the start of the major cycling race.
