Therapies, Hammam Rituals Draw Interest at Astor Garden, Aqua House Thermal & Beach near Varna

Eastern therapies and traditional hammam rituals are drawing significant guest interest at the Astor Garden Hotel, according to SPA Manager Nikolay Popov, speaking to BTA in the Sts Constantine and Helena seaside resort near Varna. Popov noted that the hotel is connected to the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex, which continually updates its services to enhance the visitor experience and meet modern expectations for variety. The complex aims to improve both physical and mental well-being.

Beyond tailored packages and beauty treatments, guests have access to various pools, including facilities for lap swimming. However, Popov advised that certain medical considerations restrict certain treatments. Specifically, following cosmetic or invasive procedures, high humidity and steam must be avoided, making hammam rituals unsuitable.

This caution also applies to traditional massages, though certain approaches rooted in Chinese medicine may remain appropriate. Aromatherapy remains highly sought after due to its immediate effects on the body, often combined with other wellness therapies. Guests can also utilize mud therapy, and management is currently considering the introduction of algae-based treatments due to the natural availability and reported health benefits of seaweed.

BTA highlights the broader industry through its feature, BG SPA: Salus per aquam, which covers over 200 certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers across Bulgaria. This initiative is linked to the major health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11 to 13, 2026, across multiple Bulgarian locations. BTA is serving as the main media partner for this event.
