Therapies, Hammam Rituals Draw Interest at Astor Garden, Aqua House Thermal & Beach near Varna

Eastern therapies and hammam rituals are generating significant guest interest at Astor Garden Hotel, according to SPA Manager Nikolay Popov, speaking to BTA in the Sts. Constantine and Helena seaside resort near Varna. Popov noted that the hotel is affiliated with the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex, which annually updates its services to enhance the visitor experience and stimulate tourism.

He stated that modern guests seek diverse and novel wellness experiences, which hospitality providers aim to meet. The complex offers resources for improving both physical and mental well-being. For guests who opt out of specialized treatments, a wide selection of pools, including lap swimming facilities, is available.

Popov mentioned that tailored packages are offered alongside various beauty treatments. However, he advised caution regarding certain services for clients recovering from cosmetic procedures or invasive interventions, recommending the avoidance of high humidity and steam, thus making hammam rituals unsuitable in those specific cases. Similarly, traditional massages require careful consideration, although certain Chinese medicine approaches may remain appropriate.

Aromatherapy remains popular due to its immediate effects, often combined with other treatments, while mud therapy is also accessible. Furthermore, management is considering introducing algae-based treatments due to the natural availability of seaweed and its reported health benefits. BTA is currently featuring a comprehensive guide, “BG SPA: Salus per aquam,” showcasing over 200 certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers across Bulgaria.

This initiative is connected to Europe’s major health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, in several key Bulgarian locations. BTA will serve as the primary media partner for this summit.
