The SPA Thracian Residence, located within the Starosel Wine & Spa Complex in the Plovdiv Region, integrates healing mineral water with specialized wine-based therapies. According to the hotel manager, the facility emphasizes the use of natural cosmetics derived directly from the complex’s vineyards. These unique products include essential oils extracted from grape seeds, which are incorporated into massage oils, toning serums, and eye contour treatments, alongside exfoliating products made from crushed grape seed pulp.
The spa offers comprehensive wine-based procedures, utilizing wine mud sourced from the winery’s fermenters. These treatments encompass antioxidant therapies, aromatherapy sessions, and various relaxing rituals, complementing classic and therapeutic massages and cosmetic treatments for both face and body. Furthermore, the complex features mineral water at approximately 54°C, noted for its benefits to the skin and musculoskeletal system, aiding in detoxification and circulation improvement.
The wellness area is extensive, boasting indoor and outdoor mineral pools, a saltwater pool with hydromassage jets, a contrast plunge pool, various saunas, steam baths, hammams, and a salt cave for halotherapy. The center is staffed by kinesiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, and massage therapists. While the majority of visitors during the autumn, winter, and spring seasons are Bulgarian, the facility experiences an increase in international guests during the summer months, with notable visitors arriving from Germany, Turkiye, Romania, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
The integration of local wine culture into these holistic therapies defines the experience at Starosel.
