Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova continues her visit to Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, which commenced in Yerevan on Monday. During the summit, President Iotova is scheduled to address a high-level forum concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This strategic initiative is designed to enhance energy security and diversify natural gas supplies across Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.
In her address, Iotova will emphasize the importance of transport and energy connectivity across Europe. The President will also participate in an event focused on the “European Coalition Against Drugs.” On the sidelines of the main forum, she is set to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas. The Summit is jointly co-chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The diplomatic engagement has been active, as on Sunday, President Iotova and Mr. Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. Furthermore, President Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, held discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Throughout her visit, Iotova highlighted the role of the European Political Community in fostering connectivity and deepening relationships across the continent.
