Two of President Iotova’s Armenia Visit for European Political Community Summit

Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova is continuing her visit to Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, which commenced in Yerevan on Monday. During the summit, President Iotova is scheduled to participate in a high-level event concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This strategic initiative is designed to bolster energy security and diversify natural gas supplies across Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.

In her address at the forum, Iotova plans to emphasize the importance of transport and energy connectivity throughout Europe. The President will also take part in an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs” as part of the broader Summit agenda. On the sidelines of the forum, she is scheduled to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas.

The Summit is jointly co-chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The diplomatic engagements have been active, as on Sunday, Iotova and Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. Furthermore, President Iotova visited the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan.

During discussions with her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, the two leaders explored avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Throughout her visit, Iotova reiterated the significance of the European Political Community in enhancing connectivity and fostering robust relations across the continent.
