Dubrovnik is hosting the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Summit on Tuesday, with a Bulgarian delegation, led by Ambassador to Croatia Iva Kruleva, attending the event. The delegation includes representatives from Bulgarian small and medium-sized enterprises. Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Frankovic confirmed the city’s readiness for the summit, noting that special traffic regulations have been implemented.
With the tourist season underway, the city anticipates arrivals from both tourists and numerous aircraft carrying summit participants. Police are managing traffic flow, and residents have been advised to remain patient regarding potential congestion. The presence of high-ranking international officials is expected to draw significant international media coverage.
The 3SI is a framework for political and economic cooperation involving thirteen EU Member States situated between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas, including Bulgaria, Croatia, and Poland. Strategic partners encompass Germany, the US, and Japan, while Ukraine and Moldova are associate members. The core objective of the platform is to enhance regional connectivity through investments in energy, transport, and digital infrastructure.
Romana Vlahutin, Croatia’s national coordinator for the 3SI, highlighted that the summit aims to bolster North-South connectivity, an area she noted had been less developed than East-West links. She stated that the event brings together global business leaders and European heads of state, with companies from 45 countries expected to attend. Political guests attending the summit include leaders from Austria, Greece, and Romania, among others.
