Welcomes Participants in Three Seas Initiative Summit

Dubrovnik is hosting the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Summit on Tuesday, with a Bulgarian delegation, led by Ambassador Iva Kruleva, attending alongside representatives from Bulgarian SMEs and companies. Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Frankovic confirmed the city’s readiness for the event, noting that special traffic regulations have been implemented. Given that the tourist season has commenced, the city expects a high volume of both tourists and aircraft carrying summit participants.

Police have been assigned to manage traffic flow, and residents have been advised to anticipate potential congestion. The attendance of numerous high-ranking officials is also anticipated to draw international media coverage. The 3SI serves as a forum for political and economic cooperation among thirteen EU Member States situated between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas, including Bulgaria, Croatia, and Poland.

Key strategic partners include Germany, the US, and the European Commission. The initiative aims to enhance regional connectivity through investments in energy, transport, and digital infrastructure. Launched in 2016, the 3SI was initiated by Croatia and Poland.

The 2026 edition will concentrate on regional resilience and digital transformation, linking the three seas countries to global corridors like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. Romana Vlahutin, Croatia’s national coordinator, stated that the summit will merge European and global business efforts. With companies arriving from 45 countries, the event’s scope extends beyond regional boundaries.

The summit is expected to host heads of state and government from several nations, underscoring its international importance.
