Welcomes Participants in Three Seas Initiative Summit

Dubrovnik is hosting the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Summit, with a Bulgarian delegation, led by Ambassador to Croatia Iva Kruleva, attending the meeting. The delegation includes representatives from Bulgarian small and medium-sized enterprises. Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Frankovic confirmed the city’s readiness for the summit, noting that special traffic regulations have been implemented.

With the tourist season underway, the airport anticipates arrivals from both tourists and aircraft transporting summit participants. Police are managing traffic flow during delegation arrivals and have advised residents to anticipate potential congestion. The expected presence of numerous high-ranking officials is also anticipated to draw significant international media coverage.

The 3SI serves as a forum for political and economic cooperation among thirteen EU Member States situated between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas: Bulgaria, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Key strategic partners include Germany, the European Commission, the United States, Japan, Spain, and Turkiye, while Ukraine, Moldova, Albania, and Montenegro are associate members. The platform aims to enhance regional connectivity through investments in energy, transport, and digital infrastructure.

Launched in 2016, the 3SI’s 2026 edition, hosted by Croatia, will focus on regional resilience, digital transformation, and linking the member states to global corridors like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. Romana Vlahutin, Croatia’s national coordinator, noted that this year’s event brings together leaders and businesses from 45 countries, emphasizing its global scope beyond regional or European initiatives. The summit is expected to host heads of state and government from several nations, including Austria, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Montenegro, Czechia, and Ukraine.
