Will Be Constructive, Responsible Opposition

Ayten Sabri, an MP from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), stated that the party intends to serve as a constructive and responsible opposition during the 52nd National Assembly’s inaugural session on Thursday. Sabri affirmed that the MRF will support any policy deemed beneficial to the rights and freedoms of the Bulgarian people and the State. Concurrently, the party committed to acting as a principled corrective against any deviations from the principles of good governance, transparency, legality, and democratic human rights.

Addressing the need for clear, sustainable policy amid volatile domestic and international conditions, Sabri outlined the MRF’s priorities. These include improving the quality of life and raising living standards, ensuring economic stability and growth, modernizing the economy and agriculture, guaranteeing food safety, reducing social and regional disparities, supporting young families, and preserving traditional values. Furthermore, the MRF emphasized the country’s consistent European development within the EU framework and maintaining a constructive partnership with the US and the Euro-Atlantic community.

Sabri stated that the MRF’s actions will be guided by upholding the liberty, justice, and equality of every citizen, viewing this as integral to Bulgaria’s future. She stressed that this commitment is necessary to move beyond confrontation and restore a culture of political dialogue aimed at finding common solutions. In her view, the day marks not just a new parliamentary term, but an affirmation of democracy as an ongoing process built on citizen trust, the rule of law, and institutional accountability.

She urged the Parliament to demonstrate political maturity by building consensus rather than division on key issues vital to Bulgaria’s future.
