Ayten Sabri, a Member of Parliament from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), stated that the party intends to function as a constructive and responsible opposition during the 52nd National Assembly’s inaugural sitting on Thursday. Sabri affirmed that the MRF will support any policy that safeguards the rights and freedoms of the Bulgarian citizenry and serves the broader interests of the State. Simultaneously, she pledged that the party will act as a principled corrective force against any deviation from the principles of good governance, transparency, legality, democracy, and human rights.
Addressing the need for a clear and sustainable policy amidst volatile domestic and international conditions, Sabri outlined the MRF’s priorities. These include enhancing the quality of life and raising living standards, ensuring economic stability and growth, modernizing the economy and agricultural sector, guaranteeing food safety, mitigating social and regional disparities, supporting young families, preserving traditional values, and advancing Bulgaria’s integration into the European Union. Furthermore, the party emphasized the importance of a partnership with the US and the Euro-Atlantic community.
Sabri stressed that the MRF’s guiding principle is upholding the liberty, justice, and equality of every Bulgarian citizen. She argued that this commitment is essential for moving beyond confrontation and restoring a culture of political dialogue focused on common public interests. She asserted that the commencement of a new parliamentary term reaffirms democracy as a continuous process founded on the rule of law and institutional accountability.
The MP concluded by appealing for political maturity, urging that Parliament demonstrate an ability to build consensus rather than division on key issues vital to Bulgaria’s future.
