Will Be Constructive, Responsible Opposition

Addressing the 52nd National Assembly during its inaugural session on Thursday, Ayten Sabri, an MP for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), stated that the party intends to function as a constructive and responsible opposition. Sabri emphasized that the MRF will support policies that safeguard citizens’ rights and freedoms and align with the interests of Bulgaria and its people. Simultaneously, she stated the party will act as a principled corrective force against any deviations from the principles of good governance, transparency, legality, and democratic human rights standards.

According to Sabri, in the current volatile domestic and international environment, Bulgaria requires a clear and sustainable policy vision. She outlined the MRF’s priorities, including improving the quality of life and raising living standards, ensuring economic stability and growth, modernizing the economy and agricultural production, guaranteeing food safety, reducing social and regional disparities, supporting young families, and developing the country’s European integration. Furthermore, the party stressed the importance of maintaining strong partnerships with the US and the Euro-Atlantic community.

Sabri affirmed that the MRF’s guiding principle remains the upholding of liberty, justice, and equality for every Bulgarian citizen. She expressed confidence that this approach is necessary to move beyond confrontational rhetoric and restore a culture of political dialogue focused on common public good. She concluded by urging the Parliament to exemplify political maturity and statesmanship, asserting that the goal must be to build consensus rather than division on key issues vital to Bulgaria’s future.
