Election Commission: With 87.23% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.6%, Second Is CC-DB with 13.5%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results from the parliamentary elections conducted on April 19. These initial figures are based on the processing of 87.23% of the tally sheets by the section election commissions, which were then compiled at the constituency election commissions as of 9 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Election Code, the CEC has specific timelines for announcing the election outcomes. The commission is required to announce the total votes received and the resulting distribution of seats among political parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election date. Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament must be published within seven days after the election.

These proceedings marked the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021. The release of these preliminary results follows the standard procedure managed by the election commission. The data reflects the ongoing aggregation of results from various levels of the election commission structure.

While the final certification of votes and seats awaits the processing of all tally sheets, the preliminary announcement provides an initial assessment of the election results.
