Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th iteration of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15th to May 17th. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which plans to perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance.”

SamoDivi emphasizes that their performance aims to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that connects them regardless of their location.

The group reports that preparations are advancing with dedication, involving twice-weekly rehearsals, costume refinement, and detailed choreography work. Composed of dancers representing various generations, the members view folklore not merely as a performance art, but as a cultural connection and a unifying bond. The festival, organized for amateur folklore groups performing outside of Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France.

This initiative successfully hosted its first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. For the 11th event in Munich, organizers anticipate participation from over 100 dance groups and an attendance exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the festival.
