Balneo Hotel in Pavel Banya Renovates Its Spa Centre

The DianaMar Balneo Hotel in Pavel Banya is undergoing a comprehensive renovation of its spa centre, according to General Manager Georgi Paunov. The upgrades are set to include a new ice room alongside enhancements to the existing salt rooms, steam baths, and saunas. Paunov noted that DianaMar serves as an extension of the Avicenna Medical Centre’s activities in Pavel Banya, following its development in the Markoni Balneo Hotel.

The facility aims to provide high-level balneological services, drawing inspiration from renowned European balneological resorts such as Baden-Baden and Vichy, while incorporating proprietary innovations. The medical complex is staffed by specialists in physical and rehabilitation medicine, coordinating care under Dr. Miroslav Minev.

All procedures adhere strictly to medical standards and utilize specialized equipment. DianaMar offers advanced treatments including hyperbaric oxygenation, cryotherapy, focused high-intensity EMSELLA therapy, and focused shockwave therapy (FSWT). These methods support both medical recovery and the preparation and rehabilitation of active athletes, facilitating shorter recovery times.

The core of the facility remains balneotherapy, capitalizing on the mineral composition of the water in Pavel Banya, which is beneficial for musculoskeletal disorders. Complementary spa and wellness services are also provided. The 80-room hotel maintains a high occupancy rate, attracting visitors from Bulgaria and several international markets.

As part of a broader effort to promote Bulgarian health tourism, BTA features certified spa and medical centres, linking the region to major European health events like the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in 2026.
