According to the Ministry of Sports, the meeting on Friday addressed the current organizational progress, the coordination among participating bodies, and upcoming key activities. Minister Iliev reviewed the preparedness of the involved parties, stressing that strong inter-institutional coordination is crucial for the successful staging of the event.
He acknowledged the commitment shown thus far, stating that while hosting an event of this magnitude presents a significant challenge, joint efforts are ensuring continued progress. He affirmed the commitment to maintaining full coordination to guarantee the competition’s success. Participants confirmed that preparations are advancing according to the established plan, with necessary measures being implemented for security, logistics, and overall organization.
Discussions also covered safety protocols for both competitors and spectators, alongside the optimal execution of the race. The 2026 Giro d’Italia will commence on May 8 in Nessebar, located on the Black Sea. The race route will subsequently pass through Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, and Plovdiv before concluding in Sofia on May 10.
