The spa centre at Ensana Aquahouse Hotel, located in the Sts. Constantine and Helena resort near Varna on the Black Sea, is enhancing its offerings with new anti-stress programmes, according to spa manager Nikolay Popov. These services primarily cater to working individuals seeking mental recovery by targeting chronic stress levels.
Popov noted that the increasingly fast pace of modern life often leads to mental tension and, when combined with physical inactivity, can contribute to degenerative bodily processes. The centre’s services are popular across all age groups. Even young professionals utilize the anti-stress therapies due to the significant pressure encountered in competitive environments.
The programmes are designed with an individual approach, intended to provide benefits that continue after a guest’s stay. Mineral water is cited for its ability to reduce tension by signaling relaxation to the central nervous system, thereby slowing heart rate and decreasing blood pressure. Furthermore, since the end of 2025, Ensana Aquahouse has introduced a specialized underwater kinesitherapy programme.
This therapy is aimed at restoring physical function lost or temporarily impaired due to surgery, joint replacement, or neurodegenerative conditions. During these sessions, a kinesitherapist actively guides and supports the patient’s movements. Separately, BTA reports on certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centres across Bulgaria in its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam” feature, noting that the total number exceeds 200.
This initiative is connected to Europe’s leading health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, across several Bulgarian locations.
