Therapies, Hammam Rituals Draw Interest at Astor Garden, Aqua House Thermal & Beach near Varna

Eastern therapies and hammam rituals are drawing significant interest from guests at the Astor Garden Hotel, according to SPA Manager Nikolay Popov, speaking to BTA in the Sts. Constantine and Helena seaside resort near Varna. Popov noted that the hotel’s affiliation with the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex allows the facility to continuously enhance its offerings to meet evolving tourist expectations for variety and wellness.

The complex aims to support both mental and physical well-being through a range of services. Guests have access to various pools, including those suitable for lap swimming, alongside tailored beauty and wellness therapies. Popov advised that post-cosmetic care requires caution; for clients who have undergone plastic surgery or other invasive procedures, high humidity and steam, such as those in a traditional hammam, should be avoided, and traditional massages require careful consideration, although some Chinese medicine approaches may remain suitable.

Aromatherapy remains a popular choice due to its rapid effects, often complementing other treatments. Furthermore, guests can benefit from mud therapy, and the management is exploring the introduction of algae-based treatments, given the natural availability of seaweed and its documented health benefits. Separately, BTA is highlighting the scope of Bulgarian wellness through its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam” feature, which covers over 200 certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers.

This initiative is connected to Europe’s major health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, across Varna, Sts. Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena. BTA is serving as the main media partner for this summit.
