Therapies, Hammam Rituals Draw Interest at Astor Garden, Aqua House Thermal & Beach near Varna

According to Nikolay Popov, SPA Manager at Astor Garden Hotel, Eastern therapies and hammam rituals are currently generating significant guest interest at the Sts Constantine and Helena resort near Varna. Popov noted that the hotel is connected to the Aqua House Thermal & Beach complex, which consistently updates its services to enhance the visitor experience. He stated that modern guests seek variety and new sensations, and the hospitality sector aims to meet these evolving expectations by offering comprehensive opportunities for both mental and physical well-being.

The complex provides diverse amenities, including various pools suitable for lap swimming, alongside tailored packages and beauty treatments. However, Popov advised that massage programs require caution for clients recovering from cosmetic or invasive procedures, recommending avoidance of high humidity and steam, which makes traditional hammam rituals unsuitable in such cases. While Chinese medicine approaches may still be appropriate, aromatherapy remains popular due to its rapid physical effects, often being combined with other treatments.

Furthermore, guests can utilize mud therapy, and management is considering introducing algae-based treatments given the natural availability and documented health benefits of seaweed. BTA reports on these developments through its “BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water” feature, which covers over 200 certified spa, wellness, and medical spa centers across Bulgaria. This initiative is linked to Europe’s major health tourism event, the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT, scheduled for May 11–13, 2026, across Varna, Sts.

Constantine and Helena, Golden Sands, and Albena. BTA will serve as the primary media partner for this summit.
