Fourteen candidates who were elected across two different Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs) have submitted their declarations regarding which list they intend to join for the 52nd National Assembly. The Deputy Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced these decisions during a recent CEC meeting. The CEC confirmed that initially, thirteen candidates had been elected in two MMCs.
The count increased to fourteen following a decision by a list leader, resulting in the current situation where these 14 candidates must specify their preferred constituency. The declarations detail specific shifts in representation. For instance, Alexander Georgiev Pulev chose to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora, opting out of MMC 30 – Shumen.
Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev selected MMC 9 – Kardzhali over MMC 24 – Sofia. Other movements include Rumen Georgiev Radev favoring MMC 25 – Sofia over MMC 2 – Burgas, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov moving from MMC 16 – Plovdiv instead of MMC 25 – Sofia. The list of declarations included shifts for Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev (from MMC 24 – Sofia instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo) and Katya Maksimova Paneva (from MMC 25 – Sofia instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo).
The candidates elected in two MMCs have now formally settled their affiliation. The CEC is scheduled to announce the comprehensive list of all members of the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. This follows the earlier announcement by the commission detailing the distribution of seats among various political parties for the upcoming parliament.
