Industrial producer price growth in Bulgaria moderated to 8.1% year-on-year for the month of March, according to data released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI). While the overall Producer Price Index in industry saw a marginal decrease of 0.8% in March 2026 compared to the preceding month, it remained significantly elevated, showing an increase of 8.1% relative to the figures recorded in March 2025. Analyzing the components of the index, the NSI reported that lower prices were observed in the production and distribution sectors for electricity, heat, and gas, which declined by 7.7% compared to February.

Conversely, the mining industry experienced an annual price increase of 40.4%, and the manufacturing sector recorded a year-on-year rise of 4.9%. Looking at the month-over-month movements, the initial data indicated that industrial producer prices rose by 5.9% month-on-month and 11.3% year-on-year at the start of the year. This upward momentum subsequently cooled in February, when the monthly increase slowed to 0.1%, while the year-on-year rate was 8.4%.

Overall, the data for March reflects a deceleration in price growth compared to the previous period, although the year-over-year trajectory for the key producer sectors remains notably higher than the prior year.
