The 52nd National Assembly has established six parliamentary groups following the announcement of their respective leaderships by Parliament Chair Mihaela Dotsova during the inaugural session on Thursday. The identified groups and their designated leaderships are as follows: Progressive Bulgaria has Petar Vitanov as its floor leader, supported by Deputy Floor Leaders Galin Durev, Vladimir Nikolov, Slavi Vassilev, and Olga Borisova. GERB-UDF is led by Boyko Borissov, with Deputy Floor Leaders Denitsa Sacheva, Kostadin Angelov, and Roumen Hristov.
The Movement for Rights and Freedoms has Delyan Peevski as its floor leader, alongside Deputy Floor Leaders Ayten Sabri, Halil Letifov, Hamid Hamid, and Iskra Mihaylova-Koparova. Democratic Bulgaria’s floor leader is Nadejda Iordanova, with Deputy Floor Leaders Bozhidar Bozhanov and Katya Paneva. Continue the Change has Nikolay Denkov as its floor leader, and Deputy Floor Leaders Ivaylo Shotev and Tatyana Sultanova-Siveva.
Finally, Vazrazhdane is represented by Kostadin Kostadinov, with Peter Petrov serving as the Deputy Floor Leader. Notably, Continue the Change (CC) and Democratic Bulgaria (DB), which contested the recent elections as a coalition, opted to form separate parliamentary groups as of Wednesday. The leadership of Democratic Bulgaria characterized this split as a “serious political mistake.” Conversely, Continue the Change extended an invitation to the DB leadership to sign an agreement for a joint parliamentary alliance, proposing the slogan “Strong Bulgaria in a Strong Europe.”
