Macedonia’s President Congratulates Rumen Radev on Election Victory

The President of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, extended congratulations to Rumen Radev following his victory in the April 19 parliamentary elections. During a press interaction after attending the Conference of Presidents and Speakers of Parliaments of the Adriatic & Ionian Initiative in Skopje, Siljanovska-Davkova emphasized the necessity of a regional cooperative approach. She stated that North Macedonia remains committed to fostering “friendly and constructive relations” and promoting mutual understanding regarding the process of European Union enlargement.

Regarding the recent elections, the President noted that she had contacted Radev following the results and subsequently received a call from him. Siljanovska-Davkova conveyed that she wished him success, adding that she believes such strong support can guarantee national stability. She suggested that Bulgarian citizens likely view Radev as a stabilizing force, which could facilitate his efforts to form a government and implement his platform.

She expressed anticipation for arranging a meeting with him. The diplomatic support was echoed by North Macedonia’s Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, who also congratulated Radev on his win, stressing the importance of continued dialogue and strong neighborly relations.
