North Macedonia’s President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova extended congratulations to Rumen Radev following his victory in the April 19 parliamentary elections. She conveyed wishes for success and emphasized the significance of adopting a regional approach. The President affirmed that North Macedonia remains dedicated to cultivating “friendly and constructive relations” and promoting understanding regarding the necessity of European Union enlargement.

Speaking to reporters after attending the Conference of Presidents and Speakers of Parliaments of the Adriatic & Ionian Initiative in Skopje, Siljanovska-Davkova stated that she had messaged Radev post-election and subsequently received a call from him. She mentioned, “I wished him success and said I believe that such strong support is a guarantee of stability,” adding that “Bulgarian citizens likely see him as a stabilizing figure for the country and the nation.” She suggested this support might facilitate his efforts to form a government and implement his agenda. “I am looking forward to arranging a meeting,” she concluded.

Separately, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski also congratulated Radev in an interview with Sitel on Thursday evening, stressing the importance of dialogue and maintaining good neighborly relations between the nations.
