Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova remains in Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community, which commenced in Yerevan on Monday, according to the President’s press secretariat. During the summit, President Iotova is scheduled to participate in a high-level discussion regarding the influence of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. Her participation in the “European Coalition Against Drugs” event is also part of the summit’s agenda. Additionally, she is slated to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas on the sidelines of the event.

The Summit is jointly chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as confirmed by EU institutions. Earlier on Sunday, President Iotova and Mr. Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia.

During her visit, President Iotova also toured the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, named after the notable Bulgarian poet. President Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, held discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
