The DianaMar Balneo Hotel in Pavel Banya is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation of its spa center, according to General Manager Georgi Paunov. The upgrades are slated to include a new ice room alongside enhancements to the existing salt rooms, steam baths, and saunas. DianaMar functions as an extension of the Avicenna Medical Centre’s services, building upon its prior development at the Markoni Balneo Hotel.
Paunov noted that the facility was among the first in the south-central town to offer advanced balneological services. The design philosophy draws inspiration from established European balneological resorts, aiming to integrate structural improvements with innovative practices. The complex is staffed by specialists in physical and rehabilitation medicine, with operations coordinated by Dr.
Miroslav Minev. All procedures adhere strictly to medical standards and utilize specialized equipment. Services offered include hyperbaric oxygenation, cryotherapy, focused high-intensity EMSELLA therapy, and focused shockwave therapy (FSWT).
These methods are utilized for both medical treatment and the recovery protocols for active athletes, supporting shorter recovery times. The facility combines natural and mechanical therapeutic treatments with kinesitherapy, placing a primary emphasis on balneotherapy, given the beneficial composition of the mineral water in Pavel Banya for musculoskeletal disorders. While spa and wellness services are also available, the hotel remains a major destination for health tourism.
The 80-room hotel maintains high occupancy rates, attracting guests from various international markets, including neighboring countries.
