The DianaMar Balneo Hotel in Pavel Banya is undergoing a comprehensive renovation of its spa center, according to General Manager Georgi Paunov. The upgrades are set to include a new ice room, complementing the existing renovated salt rooms, steam baths, and saunas. Paunov noted that DianaMar functions as an extension of the Avicenna Medical Centre’s activities in Pavel Banya.
He mentioned that the facility was among the first in the south-central town to offer high-level balneological services nearly a decade ago. The design and development of the complex draw inspiration from established European balneological resorts, such as Baden-Baden and Vichy, while incorporating proprietary innovations. The facility team comprises specialists in physical and rehabilitation medicine, coordinating activities under Dr.
Miroslav Minev. All procedures adhere strictly to medical standards and utilize specialized equipment. DianaMar offers advanced therapies including hyperbaric oxygenation, cryotherapy, focused high-intensity EMSELLA therapy, and focused shockwave therapy (FSWT).
These methods support both medical treatment and the recovery of active athletes, aiming for shorter recovery periods and increased therapeutic efficacy. The complex combines natural and mechanical treatments with kinesitherapy, maintaining a primary focus on balneotherapy, given the beneficial composition of the mineral water in Pavel Banya for treating musculoskeletal disorders. Beyond spa services, the hotel, which features 80 guest rooms and maintains a high occupancy rate of about 95%, attracts guests from Bulgaria and international markets including Kosovo, Albania, and Switzerland.
This commitment to wellness is highlighted by BTA’s feature, “BG SPA: Salus per aquam, Health Through Water,” which covers over 200 certified spa and medical centers across Bulgaria.

A new ice room sounds like a fantastic addition to the existing spa facilities.
