Bostandjiev Becomes New PFC Levski Sofia Owner

Bulgarian businessman Atanas Bostandjiev has assumed ownership of a majority stake in PFC Levski Sofia. The outgoing majority shareholder, Nasko Sirakov, announced the transition on Friday. While Sirakov will retain the position of club president, he will no longer hold shares in the club.

Sirakov stated that his departure from shareholding follows his efforts to stabilize the club during a critical period, ensuring its operational continuity and preserving its core identity. Bostandjiev stated his commitment is to maintaining the independence and identity of the club while delivering sustained success both athletically and operationally. He expressed satisfaction that Sirakov will remain in the role of president.

A cornerstone of Levski’s future strategy is the planned construction of the new Georgi Asparuhov Stadium. Levski and the architectural and engineering firm IPA have unveiled the concept, which carries an estimated total investment of EUR 120 million. The stadium is designed to accommodate 24,718 spectators under Bulgarian Football Union requirements and 23,032 under UEFA standards.

Construction is scheduled to commence in spring 2027. The facility is intended as a multifunctional complex capable of hosting major public events, including concerts for up to 40,000 people. Atanas Bostandjiev is the founder and CEO of Gemcorp Capital
