, Bulgaria, Amplifies Idea for Joint Political Project Among Reformist Parties

Following the proposal by the Yes, Bulgaria party to form a coalition agreement with Continue the Change (CC) and Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), co-leader Bozhidar Bozhanov indicated that dialogue remains open with CC, stating that “voters on our mind.” Bozhanov highlighted judicial reform as an area of complete alignment among the groups. While the three parties have maintained informal cooperation since February 2023, the current focus involves formalizing a coalition structure. A potential long-term idea discussed is the consolidation of the members into a single political entity.

In a separate interview, Ivaylo Mirchev, another co-leader of Yes, Bulgaria, addressed the possibility of unification with DSB and CC, emphasizing that mutual agreement among all groups is necessary. Mirchev acknowledged the success of the informal coalition but stressed that the electorate in Bulgaria expects a more consolidated political platform. He stated that achieving a common presidential candidate is a necessary step.

Mirchev concluded by commending the current caretaker Prime Minister, Andrey Gurov, suggesting he may be the most successful caretaker prime minister in the nation’s history. The discussions underscore a continued effort among these political figures to present a unified front to the electorate, moving beyond informal cooperation toward a concrete, unified political project.
