Outdoor thermal soaking pools filled with hot mineral water represent a recent addition to the Ismena SPA Complex. According to manager Polina Boneva, these are the first open-air mineral soaking pools in Devin, operating year-round and generating significant visitor interest. The complex itself is designed as a four-season destination, merging modern architecture with the style of traditional Rhodope Revival homes.
The facility utilizes healing mineral water sourced from the Bedenski spring. Boneva noted that while Bulgarian tourists are the primary clientele, drawn by the tranquility of the Rhodope Mountains and the warm waters, international visitors arrive mainly from Germany, Israel, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Guests are particularly drawn to water-based therapies for recovery and relaxation.
The mineral water’s alkaline properties are noted for cleansing the skin, stimulating regeneration, and supporting detoxification. Immersion in the water is especially recommended for individuals with sedentary occupations or past injuries, as the heat and mineral content relax muscles and improve mobility without straining the heart. Spanning 17 decares, the Ismena complex includes a hotel section, 15 guest houses, and landscaped park areas.
The spa center amenities are extensive, featuring indoor and outdoor pools, alongside a sauna, steam bath, Finnish sauna, jacuzzi, and aromatic baths. Beyond the hot soaking pools, guests can undergo contrast therapy in
