The Ismena SPA Complex has introduced outdoor thermal soaking pools filled with hot mineral water, marking a new relaxation feature. These open-air mineral soaking pools are noted as the first of their kind in Devin, operating year-round and drawing significant visitor interest. The complex is designed as a four-season destination, blending modern architectural solutions with the style of traditional Rhodope Revival houses.
The spa center utilizes healing mineral water sourced from the Bedenski spring. According to the manager, Polina Boneva, guests, primarily Bulgarian tourists drawn to the tranquility of the Rhodope Mountains, are attracted by water-based therapies for recovery and relaxation. The alkaline mineral water is beneficial for cleansing the skin, stimulating regeneration, and supporting detoxification.
Immersion in the mineral water is particularly recommended for individuals with sedentary jobs or past injuries, as the heat and mineral composition help relax muscles and improve mobility without straining the heart. Spanning 17 decares, the facility includes a hotel section, 15 guest houses, and landscaped park areas. The spa amenities feature both indoor and outdoor pools, alongside saunas, steam baths, a Finnish sauna, jacuzzi, and aromatic baths.
Beyond the hot soaking pools, guests can undergo contrast therapy in a 5°C shock pool—a procedure noted for improving circulation after sauna use. The spa menu also offers treatments such as volcanic stone massage and restorative magnesium massage. The overall spa experience is supported by a comprehensive medical approach, with the center providing diverse options for full-body rejuvenation.
Furthermore, the news highlights the industry’s broader scope, noting that BTA reports on over 200 certified spa centers across Bulgaria in connection with the upcoming HEALTH
