Editor-in-Chief Tina Mari Flem Elected President of Media Innovation Network MINDS

Tina Mari Flem, the editor-in-chief of the Norwegian News Agency, has been elected as the president of MINDS, the global media innovation network. Her election followed the conclusion of the term for the chief executive officer of the Finnish News Agency. The election took place on Thursday afternoon during MINDS’ annual general meeting held in Vienna.

BTA Director General Kiril Valchev congratulated Flem on her election and presented her with the English-language edition of The Real News: Stories on Life 1898-2023, a publication commemorating the 125th anniversary of BTA. BTA joined the organization on April 23, 2022, following a unanimous decision by the MINDS General Assembly. This decision was made in Helsinki during the 32nd conference, which operated under the theme “Stronger Together – Collaboration and sharing for success.” BTA’s membership alongside prominent international agencies such as Reuters, Agence France-Presse, and the Associated Press solidifies its position within the global news network.

Currently, BTA maintains agreements with 16 agencies that are members of MINDS. These partnerships include Anadolu Agency, ANP, Athens-Macedonian News Agency, ANSA, AFP, AP, Austria Presse Agentur, Belga, Deutsche Presse-Agentur, EFE, Kyodo News, LETA, Lusa, Polish Press Agency, Press Trust of India, and Reuters. The appointment of Flem continues to strengthen international collaboration within the news industry.
