Election Commission: Based on 96.41% of Tally Sheets, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.7%, GERB-UDF Second with 13.4%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results concerning the parliamentary election held on April 19. These figures are based on the processing of 96.41% of tally sheets, gathered from section election commissions and aggregated at the constituency level, as of 11 am on Monday. The preliminary announcement noted which parties and coalitions successfully met the mandated 4% electoral threshold.

Under the existing Election Code, the CEC is required to formally announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among all parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day. Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament must be published within seven days of the vote. This electoral process constitutes the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021.

The initial release of data by the commission provides an early assessment of the voting outcome. While the results are preliminary, the CEC is proceeding according to established legal timelines to finalize the official declaration of mandates. The commission’s ongoing tabulation process ensures that the final seat allocation is calculated based on all processed documentation from the various electoral districts.
